Audi Repair: 96 A6 radio, side radio, radio code

Question
I have a 1996 A6 and accidentally pulled the radio fuse from under the hood.  
I have replaced the fuse, but now the radio display reads "safe".  I have the
radio code, but do not know how to input the code.  I know there is a pattern
of numbers to input so the display reads "code", but i do not know this
pattern.  Can you help??

Without seeing the radio it will be hard, but we can try . Most of  them use two buttons on r/side . Radio has FM1 and FM2 . Usually there is something under or above FM1 and FM2. Sometimes it's SCAN or RDS. You have press and hold FM1 with whatever is under or above , OR FM2 with whatever is under or above.
if you pick the right ones , display will change to 1000
when use your preset 1 for first digit , 2 for second digit and so on. Once the whole number is enter press and hold same ones like before , it will unlock radio.
