Audi Repair: special tools evaporator, nuts and bolts, expertese

Greg,
   I know this may be out of your area of expertese but I don't know where else to turn. I have a 97 VW golf I need to replace the evaporator. I need to pull the whole dash & steering wheel to get at this thing.
  1. Am I going to encounter difficulty with the steering wheel (air bag)?
  2. Will there be any special tools I will need for this project?
  Any input will help.

no special tools. (just nuts and bolts) make sure , the batery is disconnect and you will be safe for 100% .
what I do on audis , I take all bolts out,that hold the whole sreering column and just lay down it on the floor.
With steering wheel and air bag on it.
If you go very easy  and beaceful , it will be OK.Try to not make any move in and out of steering wheel
