I have a manual 1997 Audi A4 quattro, and my question is what is the best transmission fluid and steering fluid for my vehicle; and at how many miles should the distribution belt inside the engine be changed at.

make sure you use audi fluids only. power steering takes suntetic hudraulic fluid only, same with trans syntetic gear oil ( watch there is many of them) I will go to the dealer and buy fluids fron them. Trans & steering  fluids are lifetime  . Timming belt I will replace before 80 000 milles. make sure your tensioner is also replaced , because the oryginal ones like to brake a lot.
