I have a coolant leak on my catera. Looked under car and leak is coming from a tube sticking out of the firewall just above the oil pan. Is this coming from a bad heater core. BTW my car's heat is not working.

Yes, sounds like heater hose or heater core issues. Winters coming and you can't bypass. Hopefully is just a hose or a loose clamp.
Cadillac uses aluminum engines and they cannot be over heated just a little bit. If you are at 225, you are already too hot and you will blow out head gaskets at minimum and you will not have any heat for sure.
Get it fixed as soon as you can.
