i have a 1988 allante when im driving the speedo on the dash goes from o to the right speed then cuts out then reads very erratic readings this also makes the trans think its going into a different gear sometimes the trans shifts down to the next gear im leaning towards a speedo sensor in the trans but im stumped also the dash is digital

I miss mine. Loved the car! Don't guess on this. There are too many electronic issues involved.
Get a Cadillac Allante service manual for diagnoses. It will keep you from changing parts needlessly.

I got mine through ebay about 5 years ago and paid bout $50 for it. I let it go with the car. You will find it useful for every repair.
