is there any other engine besides a 4.1 liter i can put in my car without a lot of cnanges

good question, but I do believe you are stuck with this  Cadillac mistake. Many of the 4.1, 4.5, 4.9 and Northstars are very problematic especially on overheating issues with the aluminum engine. Some of the 4.1s new came with a wristpin knock.

I have owned over 20 Cadilacs. I traded off my Allante last October with a rare good 4.1.

I am too old to play with the Cadillac engine problems and got a cast iron 454 Chev Suburban.

Don't get me wrong, I love Cadillacs. I just hate their crummy engines.
