Cadillac Repair: 1994 Cadillac Sedan DeVille, cadillac sedan deville, clutches

i was driving and the felt like the brakes applied and  it seemed like it shifted onto neutral, wouldn't move, at that time it felt like the clutches were slipping and wouldn't move, would the shift solenoids do this?

IS or HAS the CHECK ENGINE light ever illuminated while driving the vehicle and or has any other lights illuminated or any messages from the message display center ?.

What work or diagnostics of ANYKIND WHAT-SO-EVER have been performed on the vehicle trying to fix this problem ?.
