Cadillac Repair: fuel pressure, elderado, fuel pumps

We have a 1979 caddy Elderado what are the two fuel pumps for and how can we test them.  Thanks

Answer
The MAIN fuel pump is mounted on the undersdie of the vehicle against the vehicles frame.

The other pump which is the LIFT PUMP is in the gas tank.
