Cadillac Repair: tranny probs and other stuff, suspension system, sls

just purchased a 94 sls. the tranny is not shifting. rpms rev up to about 4500 to 5000 on the highway without shifting do you know what it might be?. Also a light just came on in the dash saying"service ride control" what could that be?
