Cadillac Repair: Wrong key in ignition, key blanks, locksmith

I just went to start my 2002 cadillac and inadvertently placed a key from my 2000 cadillac in the ignition.  I had trouble removing the key and when it did come out, the right key would not go in the ignition.  Is there a quick fix for this problem.  I really dread telling my husband this one.  Thanks for any response

Call an automotive locksmith to repair or replace the lock.

I don't know if you can get one for one of these key blanks, but what I do with my house and garage to identify is one has got a colored sleeve that goes on the head of the key so I don't confuse the keys because they look the same.
