Cadillac Repair: 95 EL DORADO POOR GAS MILEAGE, poor gas mileage, knock sensor

QUESTION: Replaced fuel injector without success, really poor gas mileage, can't figure out the problem.
Please advise and thanks

ANSWER: WHY did you replace the fuel injector. Do you have only 2 or 8 fuel injectors ?.

QUESTION: I have 8 injectors and had a diagnostic performed which showed one bad injector.

ANSWER: IS or HAS the CHECK ENGINE light ever illuminated on the dash while driving the vehicle ?.

QUESTION: Yes. The diagnostic reveals the following codes:
30: Idle speed motor problem   --   53: Distributor signal interruption  --  95:  Engine stalled   --   132: Knock sensor connector problem.

The mechanic thought that those must have been old codes but my car still runs like crap after injector replacement.

Answer
You FIRST need to CLEAR (erase) ALL the codes from the computers via the climate control panel and see which codes return as either HISTORY or CURRENT. Disconnecting the battery will not clear he codes.
