Cadillac Repair: Replace Air Divert Valve, valve question, faulty component

QUESTION: I need to find out if I have to go to a dealer to have this done on my 1990 Cad. deville.  I'm working with a budget here. My merchant didn't have the right equipment.

You can replace it yourself. It is not that hard to do.

How did you determine that this IS the faulty component ?. Did you get a CHECK ENGINE light on the dash ?. If you DID, What fault code or codes did you get from the computers.  If you e-mail [email protected] he can help you diagnose and repair/replace the unit.
