Cadillac Repair: cadillac code po 41, cam sensor, suspension data
QuestionI have a 1995 Cadillac Deville 4.9l that has been producing code IO39 which I understand is loss of road sensing suspension data. This is a history code and returns when started after codes are cleared. A couple of days ago, I was driving and the car began cutting out violently but never stalled. We got home and checked codes, upon which produced code po41, which I understand is Cam Sensor Signal problem. I was wondering if you could tell me what this means exactly and where this cam sensor is located. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks -
AnswerThe CAM SENSOR is located in the distributor. It is also called a HALL EFFECT SENSOR.
Once you replace the cam sensor you MUST clear (erase) the code from the computer.
