QuestionWell... Chilton's and Haynes have never been a favorite book of mine. (Too generic) In order to get the rockers out of the way, you hve to pull them as a unit, but to do that... you have to loosen a pair of them a bit so you can fit even a thin walled socket between them.
Now it's time to put them back. GM350,etc no sweat, get them close and in order, then crank it and settle them in a bit.
How the heck do you set the rockers /valve lash on the HT4100? Count turns, torque, what?
AnswerInstall the snake like rocker arm support to the engine and torque to 50 ft lbs.
Install the push rods and set 2 rocker arms per cylinder and tighten the 2 screws 1/2 turn at a time or you will bust the rocker arm pivot until both screws are fully seated and torque to 30 ft lbs.
Repeat procedure for each cylinder.
