Cadillac Repair: 96 Cadillac Seville SLS trouble codes, cadillac seville sls, tcc solenoid
QuestionMy mom owns this car, and it is showing trouble codes 741 (transmission) and 1406 (EGR). The transmission was replaced a little over 3 and a half years ago. Brand new from GM. It has almost 33,000 miles on it. The warrenty expired 4 months ago. Is this something I might be able to repair myself? Or should it be taken to a shop. I have worked on cars all my life, and actually worked as a California smog mechanic when I was younger. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
AnswerYou would need to perform test procedures along with pictures in oreder to resolve the ese 2 problems.
P0741 = TCC not engaging which could be a fault at the brake switch and or a fault of the TCC solenoid or the wires.
P1406 = EGR pintle out of position.
