QuestionHello, Please help me with this.
Here's the story: 1993 Cadillac Seville 4.9 L engine has full spark and 50 PSI fuel pressure to the fuel rail. Will crank but will not start. Engine is not getting fuel, if I spray starter fluid in the throttle body it will start then die after fluid is used up.
So, the engine is not getting fuel. Now my questions to you are:
1) Does the hall effect switch " located in the distributor " have anything to do with the fuel injection ?
2) What controls the fuel into the engine ? What modules ?
3) In your opinion, what do you think it could be ?
Thank you,
Michael
AnswerYes the hall effect switch does control the fuel delivery to the injectors via the PCM computer.
However you should have a check engine light and a code P041.
1. Ignition ON. Engine OFF.
2. Simultaneously push and hold the OFF and WARMER buttons for 3 seconds and release them.
3. Diagnostic codes such as P041 or others should appear. Do you have any codes /.
4. Turn ignition OFF.
