Cadillac Repair: 1992 Cadillac DeVille 4.9L - E91, cadillac deville, switch problem

I have a current (EE) ECM code of E91, which designates a Cruise-PRNDL Switch Problem.  Am I to assume that the Cruise/Shift Interlock/Brake Switch is out of adjustment or bad?

You either have a faulty:

PRNDL switch on the transmission.
an OPEN or SHORTED wire(s).
A fault in the PCM computer.

The most common fault is the PRNDL switch.
