QuestionMy 94 fleetwood brougham intermittently shutters at high speeds, surges while trying to stop, and at times will cut off while at low rpm or idle at a stop light. If it cuts off at a light it is a very long hard start and from then on as i push the pedal for gas it seems as if the car is latent in its response to getting the gas. I do not have a check engine light. I have replaced plugs, wires, opti-spark, cap&roter, map sensor. The fuel pump and relay are good ....im lost could it be bad o2 sensor, tps, iac, ignition module, or egr????? help please
AnswerDid you test the fuel pressure via a fuel pump test gage or are you just assuming that the fuel pump is OK ?.
If it were a sensor problem the check engine light would illuminate.
If I suspected a fuel problem, I would install a fuel pump tester and tape it to the ooutside of the windshield and drive the car as I watched the fuel pressure to eliminate a possible pump problem FIRST.
