Car won't start, I smell gas , what else could it be.

Answer
If you smell gas then your problem is ignition related as you are either not getting any spark to the spark plugs or you are getting very little due to the dampness.

Suggest that you first replace all the spark plug wires as they tend to absorb moisture over time.
