Cadillac Repair: 98 Caddy air does not work, cadillac deville, vacuum pump
QuestionHi,
I have a 1998 cadillac deville and the air worked fine last summer. at the last part of winter the compresser was making a little bit of noise but not bad. Summer hit and my wife was driving the car and slowly the air just wasent cooling very good and before I could recharge it the compresser stoped. I refilled it on the lo side and the compresser started working and is a bit louder than before. The compressor works but the r134 is not going to it. is there a switch or something that would keep it from leting the R134 getting to the compressor. The reason I ask I have a saturn same problem with a noisey compressor and when I refilled it the compressor got quit again
Thanks
Clint
Answer1. FIRST you need a set of A/C gages.
2. You have to drain out all the freon.
3. Replace the orifice tube.
4. Evacuate the system of air via a vacuum pump.
5. Add a can of freon and Check for leaks.
6. Recharge to specifications of freon.
