Question1993 Eldorado, 167k miles, 4.9L, Daily Driver. The battery was recently disconnected for a few minutes.
Up until about 3 weeks ago, my sunroof would automatically close after about 4-6 seconds of the engine shutdown or key removal from the ignition switch. Now, the sunroof stays open after engine shutdown/key removal.
Is the sunroof auto-close programmable to auto-close or stay open? Would my recent battery disconnect cause a change in the sunroof's behavior? Is there something to reprogram to activate the auto-close? If not, what controls the sunroof's auto-close and how can I troubleshoot?
AnswerThere are a couple of test procedures that you must do to locate the faulty component.
If you want to try and diagnose it by yourself using a volt/ohm meter I can e-mail you the electrical schematics and diagnostic instructions.
