how do i convert r12 to 134a with the kit? which line is my low pressure port?
89 deville: I charged the a/c and it didn't even need a whole can of r134a there's no debris , the blower works but no cold air yet. help me out buddy
AnswerDid you REMOVE the original freon from the system ?.
Did you use a vacuum pump to evacuate all the atmospheric air out of the system via a vacuum pump ?.
Did you install the recommended amount of refrigerant oil as stated on the instructions ?.
The normal R-12 freon capacity is 2.4 lbs. Using R-134a you only use 75% of the R-12 capacity which would be 2.4 lbs x 75% = 1.80 lbs.
Install ONLY 1.80 lbs of R-134a of freon back into the system.
