Cadillac Repair: How to replace ignition switch, tilt steering, electrical portion

    must replace ignition switch but can't seem to find the old one under there.

    1985 Fleetwood Cad.  Tilt steering wheel

Answer
follow the steering column down under the dash and remove the big black plastic under dash cover so you can see up under the steering column.

You will see a large bracket with 4 bolts that hold the steering column to the dash assembly. Remove this bracket and you will see the electrical portion of the ignition switch.
