Cadillac Repair: 1989 eldorado door sensor problem, swicth, little contact

I have a 1989 eldorado.The problem is that the " Drivers door ajar " is on even though the door is closed. Can this be reset or disabled?  Also can a person buy  the inside  door panels after market ? mine are all cracked or split.

When you get the inside door panels off. look at the door lock assembly in the door or look at the door lock where the key goes into and you will see a little contact swicth that has a faulty wire or the switch is faulty. Compare it to the other door when you take that panel off and make sure they look and appear to be in the same position and the wires are not broken off.
