QuestionHey its me again, I finally got to run the diagnostic when the engine was in the middle of acting up, and it also came up with a code 33 MAP/BARO correspondence. I live in 7000 feet elevation, would this effect that? When I went to inspect the ECM a few minutes ago, before I removed anything, I noticed that there was a a black wire with a white stripe with a green connector at end of it. Someone had done something with it before I knew the car because the green connector had a peice of electrical tape hanging off it. Any ideas? or should I procede with removing the ecm
Thank You
Will
AnswerHi,Will
Thats a good code, the map is located above the ecm, near the glove box,it has a vacuum line that goes from the fire wall to the map, trace the vacuum line and unplug it from the map,get the engine started and see if there is good vacuum,im curious about the map code, this could be the problem.
The green connector is the timing lead, you gound the connector to put the timing into base timing mode to check, possibly someone had checked the engine timing.
