Cadillac Repair: 98 seville sts i bought a..., serp belt, splash shield

98 seville sts i bought a new a/a compressor for it . pulled the bottom plastic off the front of the car, but I can't see any way to get the compressor out. do I have to raise or lower the engine to get to it? thanks bill

Hi Bill, This engine isn't very service friendly. According to the shop manual you have to remove the lower cover, remove the RF tire and splash shield, Recover the freon, remove the serp. belt, remove the hose assembly from the rear of the compressor, remove the compressor bolts and wire connectors and slide the compressor through the tire/wheel well area.
