in process of changing water pump on this vehical and i have 3 spacers of different thicknesses, im unclear as to where these spacers go, reassembly is at a halt until i figure out where they go. with this model the a/c and power steering had to be removed to perform the water pump repair.  thanks for any help you can provide.  i must say ive worked on chevies alot and i guess a cadillac just requires a bit more patience and knowledge.  just acquired this car and im thinking it doesnt like me:"(

p.s.-  i also loosened smog pump unit.

Hi Matt, You are right about Caddys needing alittle more patience and knowhow. However this Caddy uses the Oldsmobile engine in it. If you have a book that shows the olds 350cid or 307/5.0 liter engine then they are all pretty simular and might show the washer locations. If your car was a 1990 or newer then they have the Chevy engine option that you are more famillar with...Now about those washers/spacers. The 2 thickest ones probably go behind the a/c compressor between it and the rear bracket. The third one goes to the p/s pump. They show a washer between the bracket and the pump on the sliding bolt and they show a spacer between the power steering pump support bracket and the engine block on a stud. You may not have needed to remove the one on the stud. Hope that gets things back together again. Bill
