QuestionHi TOM.
I Looked for an Olds expert but there was none, so I thought I would ask you a few questions about the 3.5 engine in the 2000 Olds Intrigue.
1. What's your over all opinion on the 3.5 engine?.
2. Do they have an overhead cam. and are they super charged?
3. I was told that the overhead cam cars are hard to work on
and expensive is that true?.
4. Is this a good car for a average guy that can do a little
work on a car that's not to complicated?
5. One reason I ask is the guy doesn't speak English very well.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH
RICH
AnswerHI RICH, I REALLY HAVE NOT HAD A LOT OF PROBLEMS WITH THIS ENGINE. BUT WITH THAT SAID WE DO NOT SEE A LOT OF THESE ENGINES. IT IS NOT SUPER CHARGED OR TURBO. IT IS NATURALLY ASPIRATED, 24 VALVE DOUBLE OVERHEAD CAMSHAFT ENGINE.. I THINK ABOUT 215 HP. NOT A BAD MOTOR. THEY ARE NOT THE EASIEST TO WORK ON OR REPAIR AND NOT CHEAP IF OR WHEN SOMETHING GOES WRONG....NOT FOR THE FAINTHEARTED..HOPE THIS HELPS TOM.
