My truck sputters when i accelerate unless i step on the gas hard

HEy,

 Sounds like an ignition miss.  Check the distributor cap for moisture and replace the plugs and wires if they are old and worn out.  A hesitation vibration under load indicates spark that doesnt want't to jump the gap and would rather go somewhere else.
