Chevrolet Repair: rear brakes 2004 malibu, rear brakes, hydraulic force
Questionhow do I compress the rear calipers? Do I need a special tool? On my other cars I have just used a clamp but that doesn't work on this system
AnswerHey Doug,
Remove the bleeder screw before attempting to push them back. It could be hydraulic force that isn't letting you push them back or it could be a seized caliper. You should always remove the bleeder anyhow because if you push the caliper back the sediment and old fluid is being pushed back towards the ABS hydraulics and Master cylinder seals.
