Chevrolet Repair: manifold glows red, chevy silverodo, engine temp

i have a 94 chevy silverodo just replaced the motor after sitting 2 years  run great but when running a few min the manifold gets red hot and loss power ive checked for clogged cat and  change muffler and still gets hot  help would be great and thank you

Hi TJ, The first thing you should do is check the fuel pressure....should be 10 to 13 psi. The next is to scan the data and look at  the engine temp sensors, be sure they are reading correctly. While you have the scan tool also look at the 02 sensor data, it should vary from .900 to .100 volts. Let me know what you find.
