I have a 2001 Chevy Prizm with almost 170k miles on it. The clutch is starting to slip and I will need to replace it soon. What is the general price range for replacement of this item?

Parts can be up to $200.  It you replace the disc, throw out bearing and pressure plate.  You will also want to buy an alignment tool.  A cheap plastic one will do.  You will want to turn the flywheel and have it checked for cracks and bad teeth.  

If you have it done, around $500 or $600.
