QuestionMy 1995 Chevrolet Corsica makes a loud squeaking noise in the following situations:
1. Ever time I turn the wheel to the left, even just slightly.
2. When I hit the breaks, even after I release them as the car is slowing down.
It sounds like metal on metal coming from the left front area of the car. Any ideas?
Thank you!
Answertoday's cars don't have many grease fittings. therefore, the ball joints wear out. it may not test bad for alignment purposes, but they are dry. it can eventually lead to when you turn the wheel to round a corner, the steering wheel won't return to straight on it's own.
If you push the car bumper down and let it come up, even slightly and the squeak is there, and you just cannot pinpoint it, it is definately the lower balljoint.
