Chevrolet Repair: 1994 Caprice Classic speedometer, speedometers, guages

I just got a '94 Caprice and the speedo doesn't work, the guages seem to work fine. Is this a common thing for the digital readout to quit? can you tell me how to diagnose the problem? or atleast isolate it to a particular part.

Hi Gary, Yes this did happen to these speedometers. I have always sent them out for repair at a repair shop that does clusters. The cost was around $220 to repair. You need to find a repair shop in your area.
