Chevrolet Repair: 1994 chevy lumnia van, needle nose pliers, rear hatch

Question
The lock has broken on the rear hatch and I can not get the hatch to open and I can not find the release button  on the inside of the van . What can I do?

Hi Mike, You need to remove the lock assembly from the outside of the gate. Now you can get to the release with a pair of long needle nose pliers that have a 45 deg bend in the end of them. You stick the pliers in and turn them to hit the release arm.
