Chevrolet Repair: 1990 chevy silverado break lights, brake light switch, chevy silverado

Question
The break lights on our chevy silverado, 1990 ext. cab, short box are staying on. Can you give me some guidance on what to check or what it could be?  Thank  you.

Hi Chris, The first thing to check is the brake light switch which is at the brake pedal. Most likely you need a new switch. Be sure to look at the connector at the switch too, sometimes they get loose and melt.
