Chevrolet Repair: ECM installment, crank sensor, fuel pump relay
QuestionDo you have to reset the crank sensor on GM manufactured cars when you install new ECM? If so how do you do it. I have a 99 sunfire 2.0 auto trans that is throwing open injector circuit code. Put noid light on injectors 1,2,4, all were firing correctly, but three had no power.
AnswerHello Kevin, I looked up the engines for this car and come up with the 2.2L and the 2.4L. Didn't see a 2.0 for this car. The power for a 2.2 comes for the fuel pump relay then to the injectors. The ECM then controls the ground to make the injector spray. Maybe this will help you in dia the problem. Yes if you replace the ECM you need to relearn the crankshaft position in the ECM with a Tech 2 scan tool.
Hope this helps
