Chevrolet Repair: Chevey S10 Pickup Instrument Pannel, obd ii, dash light
QuestionThe Instrument Panel has gone out on my daughters 2002 Chevey S-10. We changed the instrument panel cluster and it still didn't work. When we hooked it up to the OBD II autoscanner it works while the scanner is hooked up but it didn't give a code that was helpfull. We took the truck to the dealership for diagnostics and they couldn't find the problem. We questioned the dealership about the computer and they said they checked it and it was ok. The dealership told us to take it to an electrical shop. The electrical shop diagnosed the problem as a bad instrument panel and a bad computer and told us for $900 they would replace the parts we told them the instrument panel had been replaced they said it was bad. We took the truck back with out having them repair it (the diagnostics was $300)the instrument panel was under warranty so we took it back and got it replaced again. New instrument panel still didn't work...ok maybe it's the computer. We bought a new computer took it to the dealership to program new computer...the dealership said new computer can't be programmed...put back old computer the dealership couldn't reprogram the old computer...now we are out $300 more dollars plus what the dealership charged to try to program computers. The instrument panel still does not work. Do you have any suggestions?
AnswerHi Pennie, Sounds like people are just taking your money without any answers. Not sure if I could work that way, charge you fro something I couldn't do/repair.
Give me some more info
