Chevrolet Repair: reverse lights, reverse light switch, shift linkage

Question
i have a 99 chevy suburban (old body style); my reverse lights don't work.  is there a reverse switch? if so, where is it so i can change it, thanks.

first check your bulbs in back if they work then check wires for shorts or breaks.
as far as i can remember there is a  switch in the  stick if its automatic. like a catch sorta, you place in r and its completes the circuit.  A reverse light switch is usually near where the shift linkage attaches to the transmission.

get a repair manual for your car or go to good auto parts store, and ask.
