Chevrolet Repair: Idleing, nuetral, scan tool
QuestionHappy Holidays,
I have a 94 euro Lumina with a 3.1 engine. The problem is when the car gets up to running temperature and sits at a light. It will trip the check engine light and start spitting and sputtering. Once you start off the light it straigtens out. While @ the light you either have to put the thing in nuetral or keep your food on the gas. The light goes out when the gas is applied. Also, I don't know if it makes a difference, but I notice the charging guage fluxuate when it is doing this.
AnswerHi Joe, The first thing I would do is check the code that is in the computer. You'll need a scan tool to do this. The most common thing to cause this is the computer, but if there is a code that might lead you to a bad sensor. I know this isn't much help, but you need to scan the codes to start.
