QuestionI HAVE A 92 CAVALIER THAT IS HAVING A HARD TIME STARTING WHEN WARM. WHEN STARTED IT STALLS. HARD TIME TURNING OVER. AUTO PARTS STORE SAYS EITHER THROTTLE POSITIONING SENSOR OR IGNITION CONTROL MODULE. HELP ??
AnswerI would need to know what you mean by "hard time turning over".
If the starter is cranking it very slowly when hot, it could be a weak battery, a bad battery cable connection, a worn starter, or the engine tightening up, like from lack of oil or overheating.
Out of time, or flooding are also possible.
I won't say it couldn't be either of the parts the store said, but I would want to know for sure before just investing that money on a guess.
Did they connect a scan tool, and really check them?
There are several sensors that could make a perfectly good ignition system act bad. Temp sensor is one.
