Chevrolet Repair: odometer light, odometer reading, chevy 1500

i have a 1999 chevy 1500 pickup. the light for the odometer and gear indicator went out. how do i repair this for i want the truck to show the correct mileage.

Hello Jerry,
If you are talking about just an ilumination light, You will probably need to remove the instrument cluster, and just replace the bulb. It won't effect the odometer reading.

But if you are talking about a digital display, I don't know anything about them.
