Chevrolet Repair: Low Oil Pressure Warning Display, intake manifold gasket, low oil pressure
QuestionHi Mark, shortly after having the intake manifold gasket replaced ($$$) on my 2001 Impala , 3.4L, 75,000 miles; the dasboard display lit up RED indicating Low Oil Pressure along with the chime. The same independent mechanic who replaced the gasket had difficulty believing the warning, and suspected/replaced the oil sending sensor---now the warnings occur more often than before. Can an improperly replaced intake manifold gasket be the cause? What do you recommend? The car has never overheated.
AnswerHi Gary, Wow.... I have seen a whole lot of these jobs done and NEVER seen this problem come up. I'm really not sure what they could have done wrong but something went bad!! Maybe run a crank case cleaner through it and put new oil to see what happens?
Sorry I don't have a answer for you this one
