Chevrolet Repair: 2005 Monte Carlo Starter Problem, starter problem, fuel regulator
QuestionMy 2005 Monte Carlo does the strangest thing. Sometimes when I go to start it, it seems as though it gets stuck in the crank mode, and doesn't want to turn over. It will usually start, however, sometimes it won't, I then try again and it will start. Sometimes, when this happens it will start, then make a loud bang sound and shut off. There is no particular time that this happens, the weather plays no part in it. I can get in it start it right up, drive get out, get back in minutes or hours later, and sometimes it does this and sometimes it doesn't. I have taken it back to different dealership service departments and they tell me this is normal. I don't believe it to be normal. Have you heard of this happening?
Thank you
AnswerHi Shannon, I have not heard of this before. I'm sure the people at the dealer have not seen it happen or they would try to repair this problem. I think the first thing I would look at is the fuel regulator, then the bcm. I would need to have the problem happen to me to get a feel of what is missing to get the engine running. Be sure that they did check for any trouble codes in all modules!!
Sorry I can't help more
