Chevrolet Repair: 1996 chevy 1500 4x4 problem, 1996 chevy 1500, model truck

i have a 1996 chevy 1500 4x4 that won't shift into 4wd.it has 350 with a automatic transmission.you pull the shift lever and nothing happens.the light does'nt come on either.iwas working fine about a week ago and then the light kinda flashed and went out when i was trying to shift it into 4wd.thanks for any help.

Hi Mike, First check the 4wd fuse to make sure it is OK. The next thing is you most likely need to replace the actuator in the front axle. This part just screws in and can cause the fuse to blow. These go bad often on this model truck.
