Chevrolet Repair: 1997 astro rear heat and sliding door, rear heat, hose system

Hi Van,

Should there be rear heat available when the driver's panel is set on heat? We can only rear a/c, cold air back there.

Also, the sliding door is very hard to open all of a sudden you really have to muscle it open, almost like it is not unlatching all the way?

Hello Marie,
I believe there should be heat back there, but someone may have put a valve in the heater hose.
If the coolant was replaced, their could be an air pocket in the rear heater hose system.

Is it possible there is ice affecting the door operation?
