Chevrolet Repair: Brakes, warm weather, heat gun

My son has a 1995 chevy stepside 1500 pick up.  The parking brake is locked up.  We think it is frozen because the temperature has been in the teens for several days and we have had ice and snow.  Any suggestions on how to free it up?

Hi Jerry, It is best not to use the parking brake when the weather is such as you have. I guess the best way to free it up is to use a heat gun to free up the cables, or wait for warm weather :)
