Chevrolet Repair: S-10 Chevy pickup Freeze plugs, chevy pickup, freeze plugs

My Son has a 1991 S-10 pickup. I believe it is the 2.8L six. The freeze plugs are leaking badly.

Can you tell me what is involved in changing them.

Hello Jim, There is no set procedure for replacing freeze plugs. You remove what you have to so you can get to the plug and replace it. Sometimes you need to remove the transmission or the engine from the car. So just remove the parts that will let you in to get the plug out.
