Chevrolet Repair: rear end ratio, production options, glove compartment

looking for the rear end ratio in a 1984 half ton pickup it came with a 4.1 liter l6 engine with a 4 speed manual. can not find code on axle tube

Hello Patrick,
If it is all stock, then on a tag in the clove compartment it should say.
If not, then there is a tag in the glove compartment with a whole list of three digit codes.
I will send a link, called rpo codes, (regular production options) Look for your codes, and one will be the ratio.

Look in the "G"s, like GU2=2.73.

Then check all those little codes...just for fun.
