Chevrolet Repair: Hood Latch, hood latch, repositioning

My hood won't open the latch seems to be broken is there any easy way to get it open? Its a 1996 Blazer

Hi Rick,
A typical Chevy problem is the latch getting a little worn place in it, and not releasing unless the hood is smacked right by the latch.
Repositioning the latch slightly, and lubricating it will usually fix it for a while.
That is assuming your cable hasn't broken.
